If you were new to the Bambu Lab 3D printers, this article will be important and make your printers so much better and probably save you some filament as well.
I started to use Bambu Lab printers for some filament projects since last August, now I have all series, except P1P, X1, and X1E. Like many other users, I have tried quite a lot of prints for better experiences, 8 months is a period to find out what really fits my needs.
Next, I will share with you the final prints that remain on my list.
Dry box and Storage Box
Getting wet is the top reason that kills your prints and ruins everything. Stringing, bubbling, dots, under extrusion, or an ugly surface, it wastes your money eventually. The dry box is the second-best print that makes your Bambu Lab Printers so much better.
No AMS or AMS Lite
A dry box is used when you have no AMS or AMS Lite; in this case, buying filament dryers with heating features is a good choice. Even the AMS HT cannot dry the filament while it is printing. You may need a Y Splitter Connector to enable multiple filaments.
After that, let’s move on to the other situation, the AMS and AMS Lite part. P1P, P1S, X1, and X1E; these printers are compatible with the AMS, and the unit is also a filament box. So, the only thing you need to do is dry the filament.

1 Snap-in AMS Desiccant Holder (updated) By Schutz

First, you can use this desiccant holder to replace the original desiccant bag; it saves you some money. Just fill the holders with desiccant, then snap them into the two grooves.
2 Xiaomi Bluetooth Humidity Meter Drybox for AMS with Xiaomi hygrometer 2 by lloydliu

This dry box is designed to be put in front of the AMS. They fit the five gaps perfectly. With the Xiaomi hygrometer 2, we can see the humidity easily and know the time to replace desiccants. By controlling the humidity, the filament quality remains its best.
The box lids are such a good design, it opens like a funnel, so that you can pull desiccants in easily. It was one bad experience with the former dry box I used.
But it does have one downside: you need to remove or lift two filaments to install the three big dry boxes.
Alright, the above two are the best prints I use on my AMS now. Since I have AMS2 Pro and AMS HT, I will have them updated soon.
AMS Lite
I bought the AMS Lite Last December, but I used it for multi-color printing on March 31, over 100 days after its purchase. The reason is the enclosure I use.
There are two downsides to the combo version: it takes up too much room, and the filaments are not enclosed. The A1 Mini is way smaller than the P and X series printers, but the combo version even takes up more space. The exposed filaments also mean easy to get wet, and it leads to the issues we mentioned at the beginning.
So, I printed the AMS Lite Enclosure to avoid the issue.
1 Ultimate Filament Spool Enclosure - TYPE 01 By Supergrapher
https://makerworld.com/en/models/486153-ultimate-filament-spool-enclosure-type-01?from=search#profileId-584752

This project is perfect, it looks stylish, solves the problem, and remains the AMS Lite unchanged.
The enclosure is connected by print parts, and some of the parts are larger than the A1 Mini, so these users must buy a finished version or use other printers to build the parts. After the assembly, you can put two dry boxes in the enclosure to keep the filament dry, then use 3 hygrometers to monitor the humidity.
So, that’s it, the best prints I use on AMS Lite. I used it for over 3 months, until I found the second one.
Back to the multi-color thing, the enclosure has a downside, which is that I cannot see the rest filament visually. It makes multicolor printing unreliable.
If you are OK with this issue and have enough room to put the combo version, it is the perfect print you must have.

This project is genius. It saves the room and solve all the other issues, and almost makes the A Series printers clean like the P and X series. The only downside is that you need to buy some parts and do some modifications.
It has four drawers for filament spools and a top panel for monitoring. Then it uses a rack to hold the rest of AMS Lite on top of the printer.
As for sealing, there are sealing strips on every connecting place, which means the filament can remain dry for a longer time.
After that, you can put some desiccants in the blocks of every drawer.
Drawers can be opened smoothly. Skillful people can even move the RFID part to the box, so the Bambu Lab filaments can be recognized right after being put in.
The whole setup makes my Bambu Lab A1 combo even more stylish. Since I replaced the required acrylic plate with a 10kg tempered glass, it has a steady base.
Anyway, there are still many prints remaining on the list. Stay tuned and see my next article. I will share more prints with you.
