3D Printer Hotend
3D printers' hotend comprises by 5 parts, nozzle, heat block, heatbreak, heat sink, and pneumatic fitting. It's one of the most important parts on a FDM 3D printer. It's the part where your filament melt and if not use properly, may easy cause to filament jams, nozzle blocks, etc. You may need different kinds of hotend for various filament print. For high temperature filament like Nylon, TPU, PETG, carbon fiber etc, we usually choose all metal hotend.
3D Printer Hotend Types
Usually we have different options over 3D printer hotend specifications. The popular types are the E3D hotend, Volcano hotend, and MK8 hotend.
Also, an all metal hotend is the one with its PFTE tube not being inserted down inside but only sits on the top of heatbreak. Comparing with a PTFE tube inserted hotend, an all metal hotend is more suitable for printing high temperature filaments.
