Best 3D Prints that Make Your Bambu Lab Printers So Much Better Part 1

Best 3D Prints

If you were new to the Bambu Lab 3D printers, this article will be important and make your printers so much better and probably save you some filament as well.

I started to use Bambu Lab printers for some filament projects since last August, now I have all series, except P1P, X1, and X1E. Like many other users, I have tried quite a lot of prints for better experiences. 8 months is a period to find out what really fits my needs.

Next, I will share with you the final prints that remain on my list.

Poop Bucket

Every Bambu Lab 3D printer starts form Poop Bucket. The printer purges old filament before every print, it generates something we called poop then throw it away. You’d better collect them with poop bucket to avoid mess. It makes the poop bucket essential.

Normally, we print it before the printer arrives or right after the 3D Benchy, the famous test print for every 3D printer. But there are so many poop bucket, it is important to find the best one.

A1 Mini& A1:

It fits A1 Mini and A1 perfectly, the shield can also catch up the spattering poop. It also has a handle so that you can take it out to purge the poops. Since the poops are hot and sticky, please print it with PETG, otherwise they might stick on the shield and you must clean it some time.

I switch to this model from the most popular one, the poop bucket with a long slide. It has two reasons. One, easy to fall off. The poop bucket inside the machine will stuck if the other side was blocked. It has usually happened when the poops stick on the silde and block in the middle way. If you didn’t notice the issue in time, your printer usually ends up with a fallen front cover and a damaged hotend.

So easy to fall off is important for a poop bucket. It is even a key for successful multi color printing. The second reason is easy to locate. For this model, all you need to do is put it on the back of the machine and align it with the exit slide, it won’t move unless you do. I consider the magnetic is the best way to install stuff on the 3D printer. The one with a long slide may get moved easily and cause the bucket to block.

H2D

I bought the 40W laser version of H2D on March 28, and the machine arrived on April 23, almost a month later. I started to collect 3D prints for H2D since then, and a lot of them has been on my list when the printer finally arrived.

But I do have access to a non-laser version on March 26, the second day after its release. So, I’ve already printed a poop bucket designed by nyx_nk. (https://makerworld.com/en/models/1250630-bambu-lab-h2d-poop-chute-print-install#profileId-1273095)

It was great, until my own printer arrived. The H2D is such a huge printer, it left no room behind, I cannot even install the external filament rack, my desk is a little bit small. So, it makes the current poop bucket unusable.

After that, I started to try some other prints in my collection.  Finally, the Apex3D version fits my need perfectly. I printed it with the transparent PETG, then installed six 6x3 mm magnets on it. Then it becomes my first and best tool on the H2D.

Beyond the above things a good poop bucket is only one step for successful printing, especially for muti color printing, you still need a good nozzle clean tool to make this bucket work well.

As a guy who prints with PETG mostly and does multi-color printing sometimes, I know how important a good nozzle cleaning tool is.

The A series has a better nozzle wiper than the P and X series, so the nozzle clean tool is unnecessary for the A series.

Personally, I consider the nozzle wiper a design flaw of the P and X series, it cannot clean the nozzle properly. Poops stuck in the internal bucket easily when doing multi color printing, and it was only 4 colors I’m talking about. After all, the printer can do 16 colors on multi-color printing.

The original wiper is a small piece of PTFE tube, sometimes it cannot wipe the nozzle properly, so the poop was dropped into the bucket then drag back to the build plate. In this case, it destroys your prints.

The much worse situation is poops stick together then block the internal bucket. While the printing is going on, the front cover will fall off, and the hotend might be damaged.

Even if you don’t do multi-color printing, it still causes other issues.

Materials like PETG suffer from Z-axis homing failure a lot. It almost fails every time, I have to watch the printer self-testing then take the poop out manually. PETG pops are highly likely to be taken out form the internal bucket and then dropped on the Z-axis.

So, the nozzle wiper comes to my eyes.

So, the problem is solved.
