@Tim Houser
Yes, you’re right, you don’t need to update the firmware without replacing the motherboard.

Tim Houser - December 16, 2021

Holm, to date I am unaware of a means to check without opening the bottom and looking at the actual chip. It’s only 8 screws.

That said, unless you are just trying to go back to the default original firmware these files are NOT updates. These files above are merely their base firmwares which came on the machines. So if you already have the original firmware on your machine these are no different.

How can i check without opening the printer, which firmware is needed?

Thank you

Tim Houser - December 15, 2021

As EDO said it looks like the f103 and gd32 use the same firmware. Use the link for the f103 to get the correct firmware for the gd32. As of this writing the gd32 links to the f407 firmware which obviously is not correct. You can also update to Marlin 2.×.x if you like or can roll your own. Check out the Facebook groups.

dear KINGROON Office

your firmware for MCU GD32 F303 dont work it stuck on blac screen and after restart it stuck on booting screen is there any way to make my printer working?

KINGROON Office - December 13, 2021

@Juan Tomas
Which model is the main control chip of your motherboard? Brush the corresponding firmware will be able to, the program inside or different.

KINGROON Office - December 13, 2021

@Luke
Is there something wrong with the machine? The machine does not replace the motherboard, do not replace the extrusion motor, is not necessary to update the firmware!!!

Kingroon KP3S 3.0 with MCU GD32 F303 firmware goes to the wrong link (Kingroon KP3S 3.0 with MCU STM32 F407), I did not notice and now my printer’s board may be potentially bricked.

Juan Tomas - December 12, 2021

Hi, I have tested the firmware for my kp3s v3.0 and it stays on tft updating 100%. It does not pass and the firm ok does not remain. I have the board with the gd32f303 and as I see the link is the same firmware as that of the STM32 F407 board

KINGROON Office - December 10, 2021

@Shawn
The machine can print normally without updating the firmware. Other slicing software is also possible.
